Surus (previously known as Centaurus) is a Tulsa, Oklahoma, based post-metal band formed in 2023 by guitarist and vocalist Jared Hagan, drummer and vocalist Brandon Simon, and bassist John Hagan. Combining elements of doom and post-metal to create music that is dynamic, shifting from spatial to seething. They incorporate blistering shrieked vocals and whispered falsettos to weave together tumultuous and sprawling sections; shaped by oppressive distorted guitar and bass with violent drumming punctuating the entire ordeal.
