The ever-ranging Nicholas Cage is living his best Hollywood life lately and in the upcoming servo horror camp comedy Willy’s Wonderland he’s stealing scenes from possessed animatronics that have a taste for more than just badly made pizza.
Taking its premise most likely from the video game Five Nights at Freddy’s, this new celluloid keepsake from Cage takes place in a family fun arcade complete with Chuck E. Cheese-style mechanical characters. In the scene below, posted by Digital Spy, we see one of those figures, an ostrich, literally go head-to-head with our scowling mop-wielding champion. “I’m going to feast on your face,” the giant bird says.
As Cage movies go, this might be his most campy yet. In it, he is tricked into spending the night inside the arcade, and just like Ben Stiller did in Night at the Museum, watches the props come alive. Only in Willy’s Wonderland, they aren’t historical figures they are anthropomorphic automated monsters created by someone who’s never heard of kawaii.
