Aya Cash confirms she won’t be back for The Boys Season 3
SPOILER ALERT!!! In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, star Aya Cash has finally opened up about the future of her character by confirming she won’t be returning for the upcoming third season which is currently in production in Canada, and has also revealed the length of her contract for the Amazon Prime Video series.
“I want to know if she’ll be back too,” Cash said. “I’m not there now…I’m on a new Fox show now called This Country. My contract for The Boys was only for a year so, who knows? Maybe they can CGI my face in.”
Despite this, there’s still a possibility for Cash to reprise the role in future seasons as showrunner Eric Kripke previously confirmed Stormfront’s fate in a different interview that Stormfront.
“She’s not dead,” Kripke said. “She’s just a stump. Among the writers and talking with Aya, we’re like, ‘Well, what is going to happen to Stumpfront?’ So we’ll see.”
The Boys is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about the supergroup known as “The Seven.” The show retains most of the comics (available for purchase here) boundary-pushing violence and sexuality while exploring the dark side of superhero celebrity and fame.
The series stars Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, and Karl Urban along with Erin Moriarty, Antony Starr, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, and Nathan Mitchell. Joining them as new series regulars are Claudia Doumit and Colby Minifie, who both appeared in the second season.
The series was created by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, who are responsible for another subversive comic book-inspired series, AMC’s Preacher, and Supernatural creator Eric Kripke. The first two seasons are currently available to stream on Amazon Prime Video!
