Insidious star Lin Shaye is taking on a whole new world in Ellen, a new action-packed thriller from the folks at New Regency.
Here’s what we know…
The six-part series centers on a land-developer who mistakenly attempts to drive an 80-year-old widow from her Montana ranch and finds out the hard way that he’s met his match.
The series is the brain child of Finnish filmmaker Jalmari Helander, writer and director of films like Rare Exports and Big Game as well as the series Wingman.
There is no word yet on who will be starring opposite Shaye in the series, but Deadline says Ellen will be directed by Clif Prowse and Derek Lee, the duo behind the chilling indie feature Afflicted. The duo will also serve as executive producers on the series.
Lin Shaye is rightfully known as the Godmother of Horror having been a genre mainstay since the 80s beginning with appearances in films like A Nightmare on Elm Street and Critters. She is one of the most talented and lauded actresses in the genre, having taken the lead in the Insidious franchise and with her starring roles in films like Jack Goes Home, Room for Rent and the criminally underrated Dead End. All this in addition to her serious comedic chops she’s shown off in films like Kingpin and There’s Something About Mary.
We can’t wait to see her flex those considerable acting muscles in Ellen!
