Casting is underway on the religious-themed horror Magpie, which features the directorial debut of Dean Puckett.
Tuppence Middleton (Jupiter Ascending, pictured above in “Sense8”), Max Harwood, Thomas Turgoose (Eden Lake), and newcomer Buket Komur star in the film that tells the story of an isolated church community that becomes gripped by paranoia and fear, reports ScreenDaily.
“Magpie lives in an isolated church community ruled over by her father, The Pastor. When a man is murdered, paranoia sets in and people start to whisper about a strange ‘Beast’ that lives in the forest.
“Magpie is forced to question her loyalties as a brutal witch-hunt begins and suspicions fall on an enigmatic outsider, Mary Edwards.”
