Evan Rachel Wood took to Instagram with abuse allegations yesterday. The post described how Manson had groomed her at a young age and how she lived with abuse during their relationship. If you recall, Wood and Manson were an item back in 2007. The two were featured in music videos together and were the subject of many red carpet affairs. At the time the two were briefly engaged to be married.
“The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson. He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many silent victims who will no longer be silent.” Wood posted to Instagram.
Manson replied via his own Instagram denying the allegations. He has made no official public response outside of the post.
“Obviously, my art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality. My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how and why others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth.” Manson posted to Instagram.
Not long after the allegations surfaced, Manson was removed from Loma Vista Recordings stating, “due to these concerning developments, we have decided not to work with Marilyn Manson on any future projects.”
Both American Gods and Creepshow will now skip the episodes and scenes that were to featured Manson.
So far, the only response Manson and his representatives have given were the post via Instagram.
