‘Mr. Thisforthat’ Horror Short in Feature Development with Alexandre Aja

Stars Collective has picked up the rights to a feature adaptation of award-winning horror short Mr. Thisforthat with the short film’s original creative team. Alexandre Aja (Crawl) will produce the film along with Craig Flores.

Director Thomas Mendolia and writer Michael Karr will team up once again for the feature about a little girl who discovers a strange creature named Mr. Thisforthat in her closet who is willing to give her anything she wants for a price, of course. The short film made its premiere at Fantasia Film Festival.

The film is one of the first to come from Peter Luo’s Stars Collective which was set up to support young filmmakers with guidance from established industry names such as Sam Raimi.

Flores was quoted in a statement to Deadline saying:

“Alex Aja and I are always on the hunt for innovative horror stories with franchise opportunities that give birth to iconic sinister characters who will haunt audiences dreams the same way Freddy Kruger did for our generation. With Mr. Thisforthat, Michael and Thomas have crafted a very unique dark lore that sends us back to our deepest fear and the consequences of our choices. We were super impressed with their proof of concept short.”

The film is in good company joining the ranks of other films that have been developed from shorts to features including Lights OutMama, and Darkness Falls.

iHorror will keep you posted on new details about this project as they become available. Have you seen Mr. Thisforthat? Let us know what you thought in the comments below.
