As Hollywood continues changing and evolving due to the pandemic and the forced closure of movie theaters, we’ve learned tonight that Paramount and Blumhouse’s upcoming new installment in the Paranormal Activity franchise will be going straight to Paramount+.
Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is officially on board to write the franchise’s next installment, with William Eubank, fresh off last year’s Underwater, directing.
The new movie has been recently described as “an unexpected retooling” of the franchise, reportedly continuing the tradition of taking a “found footage” approach.
Christopher Landon is no stranger to the franchise, having written the second, third and fourth installments of the series, along with writing and directing PA: The Marked Ones.
The movie is currently dated for release on March 4, 2022.
Jason Blum and Paranormal Activity director Oren Peli are producing.
