‘Nightmare on Elm Street’s’ Heather Langenkamp Cast in Mike Flanagan’s ‘The Midnight Club’ Series – iHorror

Mike Flanagan’s third big Netflix series has been announced. Following The Haunting of Bly Manor and The Haunting of Hill House, Flanagan will press on with an adaptation of Christopher Pike’s The Midnight Club. As with his previous works, a heck of a cast is being assembled this time Nightmare on Elm Street’s very own Heather Langenkamp will join up in a leading role.

The news came by way of Flanagan’s Twitter which announced that:

“As we barrel toward the start of production on @intrepid‘s new@netflix series THE MIDNIGHT CLUB, based on the work of Christopher Pike, I’m honored and thrilled to announce our cast: Portraying the titular club of terminally ill young adults is an amazing group of young actors. The Midnight Club is made up of Adia, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, William Chris Sumpter, Aya Furukawa, Annarah Shephard and Sauriyan Sapkota. And joining them…I’m thrilled to welcome back some familiar faces as Zach Gilford, Samantha Sloyan, and Matt Biedel join the cast in supporting roles. (Some other familiar faces from previous Intrepid projects to pop up as guest stars along the way.) And finally…Anchoring the show as the enigmatic doctor who runs this hospice for young adults, I’m honored to welcome Heather Langenkamp. To horror fans like myself, Heather is royalty, and I am so excited to work with her. “

Flanagan and Pike material should go together very nicely. Both works combine the sentimentality and horror together very well. These two complement each other very nicely.

Pike’s Midnight Club tells the story of a terminally ill group of teenagers that make a pact together. The pact? The first one of them that dies will make contact with their terminally ill and living friends to better explain what to expect from the afterlife and more.
