Scott Dachroeden, longtime guitar technician and photographer for Alice In Chains, as well as technician for Rob Zombie and Tool, has passed away after a short battle with Stage 4 cancer. A GoFundMe launched earlier this month to help Dachroeden with his medical bills cites other fantastic accomplishments throughout his career, such as working in the studio with the aforementioned artists as well as Halestorm.

Dachroeden worked in the music industry for 25 years, 14 of which were spent with Alice In Chains. We wish Dachroeden‘s many friends and family all the best at this time.

“Goodbye Scotty. Rest easy. I’m going to miss our adventures,” said Alice In Chains‘ bassist Mike Inez. “Thank you for being my Brother and best friend for the last 14 years out on the trail. I’m the luckiest guy on the planet.”

“You captured so many great moments over the years my friend,” said Alice In ChainsJerry Cantrell. “This was the last one I snapped of you. Having a beer and a laugh, playing a game of 4 ball with me and the fellas. Rest easy my brother.”

“So many great memories with you, Scotty,” added Alice In Chains vocalist William DuVall. “But this is one of my favorites. Rottnest Island in your native Australia in 2013. The group of us bike-riding to the perfect beach on the Indian Ocean. You swimming far out among the cliffs. Beyond where any of us could see you. Me being relieved when you made it back. Then all of us getting together to take this photo. I wish we had more photos together.

“But you were usually the one behind the camera. Capturing countless incredible moments. Your photos are the primary visual record of our band for the last 15 years. When I look back at just the images of yours that I have in my phone – literally thousands – all those shows, all those adventures, it is simply overwhelming. Our camp will never be the same. Your work, your love, kindness, and humor will live forever. You will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, brother.”
