Fans of the series Creepshow have a reason to celebrate today. AMC and Shudder have ordered a third season of the anthology series ahead of the season two premiere on April 1, 2021.
“During our season two production, Shudder was so pleased with what they were seeing that they asked us to roll right into production on a brand-new third season that will feature some of our most ambitious stories yet,” said executive producer and showrunner Greg Nicotero in a statement. “I’m incredibly thankful to the team at Shudder for the opportunity to continue honoring the genre with more gleefully ghoulish tales over not one, but two new seasons of Creepshow this year.”
Details are scare of course, though it appears they intend to premiere later this year, and the cast will including Ethan Embry (Grace and Frankie) and Andrew Bachelor of The Walking Dead.
Creepshow is based on the 1982 anthology film from George A. Romero that featured stories and script by Stephen King. King made an appearance in the film along with Hal Holbrook, Ted Danson, Leslie Nielsen, Adrienne Barbeau, Viveca Lindfors, Ed Harris, E.G. Marshall and more!
Season one of Nicotero’s version of Creepshow was one of the most successful the streaming platform has seen and the possibilities are limitless with carrying the series forward. In fact, it’s already spawned two holiday specials in between the first and second season despite production halting with the pandemic.
Stay tuned for more info on Creepshow season two and three as it becomes available!
