Another month has come and gone and it’s time to take a look at all the new movies and series coming to Shudder for September 2020!
Beginning September 1, AMC’s all thriller/horror streaming platform begins its 61 Days of Halloween celebration, ushering in Halloween a month early, and we are totally here for it.

Bram Stoker’s Dracula: From Francis Ford Coppola comes a new take on the classic and chilling tale of a seductive Transylvanian prince, who travels from Eastern Europe to 19th century London in search of human love. This lavish adaptation of the Bram Stoker novel stars Gary Oldman as the mysterious Count along with Anthony Hopkins, Winona Ryder, Keanu Reeves, and Tom Waits! (Also available on Shudder Canada)
Color Out of Space: SHUDDER EXCLUSIVE–Richard Stanley directs this adaptation of the H.P. Lovecraft tale starring Nicholas Cage and Joely Richardson. After a meteorite lands in the front yard of their farm, Nathan Gardner (Cage) and his family find themselves battling a mutant extraterrestrial organism as it infects their minds and bodies, transforming their quiet rural life into a living nightmare.
Countess Dracula: Peter Sasdy directs this classic Hammer film about a mad Hungarian countess whose beauty regimen begins to deplete the local population of beautiful young maidens. Ingrid Pitt and Nigel Green star.
The Vampire Lovers: More classic vampire vibes from Hammer Studios, this time in a loose adaptation of Sheridan Le Fanu’s Carmilla starring Ingrid Pitt, Peter Cushing, George Cole, and Madeline Smith.
Victor Crowley: Adam Green’s final(?) installment in the Crowley franchise. Andrew Yong has spent over a decade claiming that local legend Victor Crowley was responsible for the 2007 massacre that left over 40 dead. Yong’s allegations have been met with widespread disbelief, but when a twist of fate puts him back at the scene of the tragedy, Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and Yong must face the bloodthirsty ghost from his past.
Lost Soul: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley’s Island of Dr. Moreau: Richard Stanley (Color Out of Space) came up with an ambitious plan for adapting The Island of Dr. Moreau. But casting Val Kilmer and Marlon Brando proved to be his undoing and he was fired off the film. What happens after that must be seen to be believed. The documentary includes appearances by Fairuza Balk, Richard Stanley, Hugh Dickson, and Oli Dickson. (Also available on Shudder Canada and Shudder UK)
Fade to Black: Shy, lonely Eric delivers film supplies for a living, but exists only to see movies and immerse himself in fantasies about characters and stars. Frequently bullied and betrayed, Eric is gripped by homicidal rage and launches a series of grotesque murders, all patterned after characters and incidents from his beloved movies. Southbound: On a desolate stretch of desert highway, two men on the run from their past, a band on their way to the next gig, a man struggling to get home, a brother in search of his long-lost sister and a family on vacation are forced to confront their worst fears and darkest secrets in these interwoven tales of terror and remorse on the open road. NOS4A2 Season Two: Season two of NOS4A2 drops in its entirety on September 10th picking up eight years after the end of season one. Charlie Manx (Zachary Quinto) returns seeking revenge on Vic McQueen (Ashleigh Cummings) in the one way he knows he can hurt her: targeting her eight year old son. (Also available on Shudder Canada)
Door Into Darkness: Four Spine tingling episodes presented by Italy’s undisputed master of horror, Dario Argento. Originally made in 1973 for Italian Television, Door Into Darkness was highly controversial at the time for its boundary pushing and levels of violence. (Also available on Shudder Canada)
Holliston Seasons 1 & 2: Down-and-out aspiring horror filmmakers navigate life’s challenges in this sitcom from Adam Green (Hatchet) that is just as funny as it is ridiculously violent. Binge both seasons beginning September 14th! (Also available on Shudder Canada)

Spiral: SHUDDER ORIGINAL–Seemingly happy couple, Malik (Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman), and Aaron (Ari Cohen) move to a small town in search of a better environment for them and their 16-year-old daughter (Jennifer Laporte).
