Developers Acid Man Games and Fire Planet Games, together with 1C Entertainment, are looking to capitalize on the retro shooter craze with their new title, Viscerafest, which was unveiled as part of Valve’s Steam Game Festival.
Taking a cue from the classic Quake III Arena, players are thrust into the year 3796. You play as a mercenary named Caroline, who in the process of looking to propose to her boyfriend, realizes that money is tight. So, what’s a merc to do other than take on a bounty for a warlock named Cromune?
Problem is, Crommune has a whole army of aliens and eldritch monstrosities in front of him. Armed with nine different weapons, you’ll have to blast through the waves of enemies over 26 arena-sized levels, collecting a few trinkets along the way.
Arriving later this year on Steam, you can check out the demo available on its Steam page.
