Video Interview: Writer/Director Castille Landon Discusses Destigmatizing Mental Illness and More for FEAR OF RAIN – Daily Dead

Daily Dead

In the psychological thriller Fear of Rain, writer/director Castille Landon has crafted a thoughtful examination of the toll of mental illness by bringing viewers inside the mind and experience of a teenager by the name of Rain (Madison Iseman) who is struggling with schizophrenia, which causes her to question what’s real and what isn’t in her life. Fear of Rain also stars Israel Broussard, Harry Connick Jr. and Katherine Heigl, and arrives in select theaters and on various digital platforms this Friday, February 12th, courtesy of Lionsgate.

During the recent press day for Fear of Rain, Daily Dead spoke with Landon about her approach to the story of her latest feature and how she wanted to destigmatize mental illness through the film’s central character. Landon also chatted about the research process she embarked on while crafting the story of Fear of Rain and her experiences collaborating with Iseman in order to bring the character of Rain to life here.

Check out our video interview with Landon below and look for more on Fear of Rain later this week, right here on Daily Dead.
