Zagušljivi dim is a three-member band from the city of Čakovec, which seeks inspiration in the worlds around us and inside ourselves. The main mission of Zagušljivi dim is a mantric musical journey that aims to investigate the wondrous, ghastly, unknown and what seems familiar to us. The smoke symbolizes the spoken truth, change, and elusiveness. Kranjec is a common surname in the north of Croatia, but it is also a character from Slavic mythology.

After Chopin’s Nocturne op.9.no.2. performed by Rubenstein, we will listen to a composition by a band Zagušljivi dim, performed by Martin Geček, David Lesjak and Nikola Švenda. The composition named "Kranjecovi krugovi pakla“ (Kranjec’s Circles of Hell) is an allusion to Inferno from Dante’s Divine Comedy, and it represents an ascension along a mysterious path on which the protagonist experiences Sisyphean existential discrepancy through his own self-reflection while fighting with his demons and facing the endless nature of a circle. This musical performance of one’s own Sun dance is a reminiscence of the beginning and the end as one and the same spot on the outline of a circle, but also of catharsis caused by the discovery of that fact. In words of the wiser ancient priests, we will illuminate this moment and sail into endless harbors of a never-ending circle.

"Every single thing a warrior does is in a circle, and that is because the power of the World always works in circles, and tries to be round. The sky is round, and I have heard the earth is round, and so are all the stars. The wind in its greatest power whirls, birds make their nest in circles, for theirs is the same religion as ours. Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing, and always come back again to where they were. The life of a man is a circle from childhood to childhood, and so it is in everything where power moves.“
