Focus Features has secured worldwide rights to You Won’t Be Alone, a supernatural horror film written and directed by Goran Stolevski. The film marks the directors feature debut.

The English-language film was filmed in Serbia and boasts an impressive cast including Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Alice Englert (Ratched), Anamaria Marinca (Europa Report), Felix Maritaud (Knife+Heart), Sara Klimoska (Willow), and Carloto Cotta (Tabu).

You Won’t Be Alone is set in an isolated Macedonia village where a young, feral witch becomes curious about the villagers. After accidentally killing one of them, she takes on their form to see what life is like among other humans. As her curiosity grows, she continues to shapeshift, taking on more lives. The witch will be played by multiple actors within the film.

The film is produced by Kristina Ceyton (The Babadook) and Sam Jennings (Cargo).

You Won’t Be Alone is a very special project by a very special and talented filmmaker and we’re so proud and excited to be producing Goran Stolevski’s debut feature film,” Ceyton and Jennings said in a statement quoted by Deadline. “And to be collaborating with Focus Features and, for the third time, with Bankside Films, to bring this story to life and out into the world. Making a film amidst a pandemic has certainly been challenging, but with such supportive financiers in Screen Australia and Film Victoria, our post partner KOJO Studios, Head Gear Films, and the dedication of our amazingly committed international cast and the incredible crew here in Serbia, we feel very grateful.”

Focus Features will handle all domestic rights on the film and Universal Pictures International will handle foreign distribution.

There is no set release date for You Won’t Be Alone, but iHorror will keep you posted on those details as they become available.
